Seven Players Earn 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open Exemptions As CN Canadian Women’s Tour Season Comes To A Close

Oakville, Ont. (Golf Canada) - Four players earned entry into the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open August 23-29 at St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg as the final event on the 10thseason of the CN Canadian Women’s Tour came to a close Tuesday.
The four CN Canadian Women’s Open exemptions were provided to the top finishers on the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit who were not otherwise already exempt.
Lisa Ferrero of Lodi, CA, Sue Kim of Richmond, B.C., Seema Sadekar of Toronto and Ryann O’Toole of San Clemente, CA. all earned entry into the CN Canadian Women’s Open Championship.
New for this season, the top three players on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour season-ending Order of Merit were awarded direct entry and entry fees paid into both LPGA Tour Sectional Qualifying Tournaments (a $5,000 value each) compliments of CN, who is title sponsor of the CN Canadian Women’s Open, the CN Canadian Women’s Tour and CN Future Links – Canada’s junior golf program.
Jessica Shepley of Oakville, Ont. (1), Charlotte Mayorkas of Las Vegas, NV (2) and Lisa Ferrero of Lodi, CA (3) were the inaugural winners of this coveted prize.
The following players earned exemptions into the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open through the CN Canadian Women’s Tour.
CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit Exemptions:
Lisa Ferrero
- Finished 3rd on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 760 points to earn CN Canadian Women’s Open exemption
- Claimed $12,543.88 in season earnings to finish 3rd on money list
Sue Kim (amateur)
- Finished 4th on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 617.08 points
- T9th at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Quilchena Golf & Country Club
- T2nd at the at CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Rivermead Golf Club
Seema Sadekar
- Finished 6th on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 587.5 points
- Finished 5th on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Money List with $8,804
- T2nd at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Quilchena Golf & Country Club
- T7th at the at CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Rivermead Golf Club
Ryann O'Toole
- Finished 7th on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 527.5 points
- Finished 6th on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Money List with $8,191.64
- T2nd at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Quilchena Golf & Country Club
- T10th at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Blue Springs Golf Club

Recap of 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Tour Event Winners:
At Quilchena Golf and Country Club in Richmond, B.C., 27-year-old professional Jessica Shepley outlasted her opponents over two rounds, tallying a final-round 1-under par 72 to win the season opening event.
Shepley, who had previously secured entry into the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open, Canada’s only LPGA Tour event, thanks to an exemption given to the winner of the 2009 Canadian PGA Women's Championship, earned $10,000 (CAD), her share of the event’s $60,000 purse.
On the Tour’s second stop, held at Blue Springs Golf Club, Team Canada member Stephanie Sherlock of Barrie, Ont., and 26-year old touring professional Charlotte Mayorkas battled before Mayorkas claimed the title on the first playoff hole. Mayorkas earned the winner’s exemption into the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open with Sherlock claiming the Low Amateur title.
Team Canada member Sue Kim and amateur Candace Schepperle of Birmingham, AL., battled at the Tour’s final stop held at club de golf Rivermead. Schepperle, 22, made birdie on the championships final hole to beat Kim and claim her exemption into the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open.
Jessica Shepley

- Finished runner-up at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Club de golf Rivermead
- Finished first on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 1025 points
- Led the CN Canadian Women’s Tour 2010 money list with $20,000 in earnings
- Won the Jocelyne Bourassa Player of the Year award
- Had previously earned a CN Canadian Women’s Open exemption by winning 2009 Canadian PGA Women's Championship
Charlotte Mayorkas
- Won the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Blue Springs Golf Club
- Finished T2nd at the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Quilchena Golf & Country Club
- Finished 2nd on 2010 Canadian Women’s Tour money list with $15,391.64
- Finished 2nd on 2010 Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 975 points
Candace Schepperle (amateur)
- Won the CN Canadian Women’s Tour event at Rivermead Golf Club
- Finished 6th on 2010 Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit with 600 points
